Marina Communities:
First Colony is a 510 home, wooded subdivision located on the James River. It features marina facilities available to current, paid members of the Greater First Colony Area Civic Association. The marina offers boat slips, boat parking, boat launching, fishing, a gazebo, and a sand beach. The marina was dredged in 2003, and has been completely refurbished in 2004. Homes vary in style and size, homes on interior lots are currently being market from the mid $300's, while riverfront properties are in the multi-million dollar range.

Chickahominy Haven is a waterfront community on the Chickahominy River in Lanexa, VA. Located in western James City County, the community consists of 350 homes and well over 150 golf carts that residents use to visit neighbors, go to parties, ride to the marina to eat and sometimes just cruise around and enjoy looking at the nearby water.
Kingspoint a waterfront community of 220 homes located on College Creek. The neighborhood has a pool and a clubhouse.
Powhatan Shores is a small subdivision of 112 lots featuring a boat launch, picnic area, playground and park. Some properties back to the navigable Powhatan Creek, which leads to the James River, and have private docks.
Riverview Plantation is a quiet historical river side and lake front community bordering the York River and the York River State Park. It is located 5 miles from the new Williamsburg Hospital, shopping, Route 199 and Interstate 64. The community amenities include tennis courts, playground, picnic area, river boat launch, and a fishing pier on the tree-lined lake, stocked for fishing pleasure.
